The Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre operates inside the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre at Wacol. It was established to support and promote the well-being and capacity of young people in detention.

The school was formed in January 2001 under the name Brisbane Youth Detention Centre School, from the amalgamation of John Oxley School and Sir Leslie Wilson School. In May of the same year, the school was renamed Brisbane Youth Detention Centre School.
