Pre-program Baseline Data (2011 - )
Hands on Learning Australia
- From
- 2011
Hands On Learning Australia implemented its own data collection process in 2011 to collect data directly from artisan-teachers to assist in tracking the progress of students as part of demonstrating the impact of the program. Background situation, referral details, and up to five pre-existing issues are recorded as part of student baseline data.
Hands on Learning Australia holds the spreadsheets from each school, and also collates data to create a spreadsheet covering all schools for each year. The baseline data is contained in around 100 Excel files, representing data for several hundred students. A complete set is not always received from every school in the program.
The data includes information on the background of each student, referral details, background issues, and baseline data covering five categories: intra-personal skills; inter-personal skills; self-management skills; basic literacy and numeracy skills; and school attachment/retention. Each of these categories contains a series of measures.
